Whole School Improvement Grant
DEADLINE: November 15, 2024, by 5:00 pm.
Applicants can apply for up to $1,900 for innovative projects at their school.
Applications are closed for the 2024-2025 school year
Purpose: Whole School Improvement Grants are designed to provide funds to assist initiatives that are designed to reshape, enhance or improve education for all students at the school site.
Eligibility: grants are awarded on a competitive basis and any YCSD teacher or group may apply.
Eligible Proposals: All eligible proposals must ensure the following:
- No school name, acronym or teacher names on the application.
- provided an itemized budget that includes the vendor and prices
- Does not ask the foundation to fund the following: food, bus transportation, salaries for speakers or substitute teachers, alternative seating or clothing items.
Funds: Applicants may apply for up to $1,900. The number of awards will depend on funds available from the York Foundation for Public Education, Inc.

Kerry Dabbs received the YFPE Improvement Grant for their project titled, "Flexible Fresh Air Learning."
York High School-$650.00
Monica Chandler and Dory Holder received the Ashe-Don't Trip Over Your Shoelaces Grant and the YFPE Improvement Grant for their project titled, "Capturing Creativity: Empowering Students with Classroom Cameras."
Coventry Elementary School-$1,321.00
Kathleen Player received the YFPE Improvement Grant for her project titled, "Everyone WINS! with a Learning Game Library."
Dare Elementary School-$1,900.00
Story Kerr received the YFPE Improvement Grant for her project titled, "Innovative Play-Enhancing Learning through Purposeful Play Zones."
Magruder Elementary School-$925.00
Heather Roberts received the YFPE Improvement Grant for her project titled, "Math Family Engagement Series."
Mt. Vernon Elementary School-$1,450.00
Jill Gillikin and Amy Hoerger received the YFPE Improvement Grant for their project titled, "Pedal for Progress: Using Stationary Bikes to Boost Focus and Behavior in the Classroom."
