Non-Licensed employees can apply for a scholarship to help defray the cost of workshops, conferences or college courses.

Steve Staples YCSD Employee Scholarship

Purpose

The Steve Staples York County School Division Employee Scholarship is designed to support non-licensed York County employees with their continued professional development and education by defraying the costs incurred to attend workshops, conferences or college courses

Persons Eligible to Apply for Scholarships

The grants are awarded on a competitive basis and any full-time, non-licensed employee with at least two (2) years of continuous service with the York County School Division may apply.

Eligible Proposals

All eligible proposals must ensure the following:

• The conference, workshop, or college course has been approved by my supervisor.

• I have included the conference/workshop flyer or course description.

• I have included a one-page personally written letter that addresses in separate paragraphs each of the following topics:

  1. My need for the scholarship
  2. How the scholarship funds will be specifically used
  3. How my attendance will benefit my professional or career development

Award of Funds

Applicants can apply for up to $500 and the number of scholarships awarded depends on the amount of funding available.
